Temptation
Throughout time, women’s sexuality has been association with fruit. Women and fruit were often (and still are) compared to one another. Whether it’s their body shape (pear), vagina (cherry), skin or smell (fruit-like). But the most common way women are associated with fruit is through the temptation story of Adam and Eve. While various interpretations abound within the story, the most interesting is the fruit itself—the fruit offered changes from culture to culture. Whatever fruit was available or upheld—from bananas to apples—to display Eve’s temptation.
